I love seeing the light in someone's eyes when something dawns on them and they suddenly realize how something works. It especially feels good to know that I helped make them understand it. Often, when I explain things to people, I try to trail off naturally so that they can fill in the blanks, but I try to make it look like I'm struggling to come up with how best to put it. It's so great when the person can fill in the blanks before I have to, because then I can usually see that they feel like they knew it all along, that I just helped them dig it out. It makes them feel better about having to ask for help, and makes them more inclined to ask the next time they need it. Additionally, I have to admit that I just enjoy hearing myself talk...
